kaerimas............

Finally, time to go back to Malaysia. My one year studying at here is something i won't forget. Throughout this 1 year , i learn a lot of things not only from the aspect of academic but also other stuffs such as how the 'real worlds' looks like either from the good points to the bad ones. It is sad that i have to face the same situation again eventhough until this while i believed that  i won't face it again.History does repeat. This  event somehow make me change the way i look on certain aspect of life. I do hope someday in the future, i might gain back the trust on this particular aspect of life. Anyway,  i started this blog when i came to Scotland and since i will be going back to Malaysia,it means that this might be my last post.Depends whether i  still has the mood to continue it or not...........

Bowling and Golden compass

DDS test finally over. To celebrate it me and my housemates went out for a bowling game.Since this is  my first time playing bowling, the look of bowling ball make me thinks about the possibility of me throwing that heavy ball. However, surprisingly with the right size of ball it is not as heavy as i thought. Anyway, the game was quite fun and moreover i managed to score some point.

After that we watched a movie entitled 'The Golden Compass'. The stories is nice but maybe my opinion is little bit bias since its my nature to like fantasy-type stories.I even bought the books about it.

my 22nd birthday in UK and treasure hunt

2 weeks before the DDS test was my birthday. This is the second time my birthday being celebrated, the first one at IMU, and its in UK!!.Anyway i would like to thank those who celebrated my birthday especially to Anson, Shu NIng , Ron, Kah Wei ,Amir who organized this birthday celebration. Thanks guy ,really appreciated it and the cake was superb and most importantly it does not contain cheese.

The same following weekend,we have a treasure hunt game, organized by Kah wei. I felt quite excited about it since it is rumoured that the puzzle won't be easy and so on .However the weather was not on ours side, it was raining yet we continued our games. The first puzzle was arranging pieces of pictures, the second one was finding a book in the library (how they managed to slip the envelope still wondered me), the third one crossword puzzle, and finally solving a riddles.Although our group didn't won, it was quite fun and also a good 'excercise'. After the treasure hunt i received a very special present ,my birthday card.

Thanks guys for the lovely card and not to for get really thankful for the multi wrapping:)

Botanical Garden

This post supposed to be put during autumn, however due to my laziness,it is been delayed till now ..winter season. The visit to  glasgow botanical garden during autumn is something which must not be missed. On the road,we can see the fallen of all sizes of leaves.Despites their differences in sizes, they all share a common characteristic which is their colour which can be either yellowish, oranges or reddish. The same things can be seen above the tree.In my mind , i was thinking this is how autumn feels,a unique experience that i won't be forgotten. Now currently is winter season, hopefully i can see snow falling in glasgow although the chances are quite small.

Manchester part 2

The next day ,we again take a walk around manchester and this time we visit a gallery or exhibition, and some exciting places.

Img_5653_1Here we found a lot of artistic works and some of them are giant replicas of stationery  such as eraser, scissor and so on.At here also i bought some postcard which later i post it to my address at glasgow.

Img_5676On our way to the famous dim sum restaurant ,we met this giant santa. Its amazing how the santa can eat this much.

Img_5712The Dim Sum restaurant (Tai Wu)was quite packed, and one of my friend comment its environment is exactly the same as the chinese restaurant. I managed to try one of the dim sum (the prawn one, okay) and its quite nice.Img_5727

Its quite pack that we need to wait to get a table. The prawn dim sum is the only diim sum i tried and the rest is Mc Donald.Even kena sound by the waiter there for eating outside food ;) .After that our group seperated, and the rest of my time was walking around Manchester, I didn't went to old trafford since its only one big stadium. Finally i and one of my friend come back to Glasgow by bus,[almost miss it since we wait at the wrong place(in the bus station)and not the right one(the bus stop outside the bus station, its so weird, man] and it takes 5 hour to reach glasgow . Anyways, although  we are tired when we reached our home sweet home, the experience was priceless.

Manchester part 1

Finally, i have the urge to write a new post, been busy and lazy last few months.Anyway, this time is about my trips to Manchester. For those Manchester United fans out there, to be here is a dream come true especially to Old Trafford where MU stadium is located. Since i'm not a football fan ,the trip to Manchester for me is just to gain experience and not to forget to have fun as well.At first,i was reluctant to go there as i need to send my intro draft in one weeks time and worst my notebook totally cannot be operated.Talk about luck.Regardless of the consequences, i finally decided to go at the last minute. After 3 hours in the train(most of the time was spent on watching scenery and playing games)we finally arrived to our destiny. My first impression sounded like this ,"why each time i go to new places ,it will always be colder than Glasgow and yet it is more colder than Edinburg". Despite the  cold weather, we managed to find the hostel. The hostel here is better than edinburg  since the room  is provided with socket. After equipping ourselves with cold-proof clothes we plan our first move and the first place was China Town.

After having our lunch there, we decided to go around manchester and here are some of the pictures of the place we go.

The ferris wheel above was so nice, its been a long time  and yet so expensive. We didn't manage to take a ride there, since its already so late. However when i'll visit to London someday, the first thing i  do will be riding their famous ferris wheel.

here is where one of my housemate having his first drink  and the only drink ordered called 'sex on the beach'. Continue....to part 2

2nd trip to edinburg

My sem 6 holiday just started and to celebrate this me and my housemate planned a trip to Edinburg. The visit was what i awaited so much as my previous visit was very exciting and fun, furthermore this time there will be some fireworks event. Thanks to Anson , we managed to book a hostel and whats amazing is,its located just beside the Edinburg castle. The first day we decided to travel around Edinburg.Although i went to the same place as i went for my first visit,it never bored me.The view is just amazing and spectacular  and moreover it was quite  enjoyable to walk with my housemates. We really have a great time.On our way we do met some of our friends. We finally reached holyrood(not hollywood) park. The park actually   quite a big hill that we can climb over.Last time ,i miss the chance to explore this hill so i really hope to climb this time. The view above the hill was amazing and it is much higher than  Calton hill and Edinburg's Castle. We really have some fun time up there doing different pose especially the 'Starfish Jump'[Ron if you're reading this you should know what I mean :)].

Edinburg_1 The view from the holyrood park

We then walk back home and on our way we explore to 'unknown' place accidentaly. Here, i find something that i can't believe ,a field that is so large that i think a baseball stadium can fit.If only Malaysia have such a field.

Img_5122 A part of the field

Anyway we managed to reach our hostel and prepared for the main event which are the fireworks.Around 8.30 pm,we reach at the Princes street and we can see such an amazing crowd. Although, the fireworks is launched at the castle which is quite far from where we were, the blossom of the fireworks really amazed me.

Img_5156This is the best that i can snap. You can't believe how difficult i tried to take this photo

The next day ,me and my housemates separate into two groups ,one went to take a trip around Edinburg and the others went to the zoo. Since I never been to Edinburg's zoo, thus i decided to go there. So me, Anson and Shu Ning finally reached to the zoo after taking 1- pound bus.

Img_5214

The famous thing that i know about this zoo ,is the marching penguins. Here, i saw a lot of animals that's impossible to see in  Malaysian zoo. Moreover, the zoo is quite big and it was quite fascinating that they really make the animal's habitat as similar as the real one's.One of them is the red panda. At first it was quite dissappointment since the animal slept on the top of the tall tree but luckily for us the panda actually walk down and believe me it's face look quite cute.

Img_5227 The red panda

Other than the panda i also saw  jaguar, leopard, lemurs, stoke, polar bear, different type of monkeys and not to forget the penguins and much more.

Img_5364 The marching penguins

Img_5362 Another type of penguins

One thing I learn is that the 2 tonne rhino actually have a very sensitive feets (I was wondering what will happen if its leg is being tickled).Without realizing we spend more than 3 hours in the zoo. After the  zoo, we went to to Calton hill and the Edinburg's park.As they say all good things must come to end ,and its finally time to say goodbye. As the train goes, I was wondering will i be able to come to this place again?Anyways, the great time i spend here will surely be a lifetime moments that i won't forget.

Part 5: Spring cleaning

Last Friday, me and my housemates decided to do some serious spring cleaning. The living room which previously look like a 'store room' has now look like it supposed to be. Brand clean and new. Finally we can see some sunshine while eating our meals:).Its amazing, how when all  9 of us(including Khai yong's housemates) work together,it takes less than an hour to clean it up. Who say cleaning doesn't earn you anything. I do get a small tripod and a heater. All these came from the seniors' stuff they left at our place. My finest achievement is to scrub the electric stove to the nearly new state. But i wonder how long it will last..ha ha ha.

Img_4712_6 My new living room.....How i waited for this day to come:)

Img_4714 At least its much much much much  cleaner than before

Img_4718_1 my new and cute tripod and what's more its free..

PS: Finally there's a blender in our house, which means that i can blend the dried chillies to make 'chilli sos'.

Part 4 :Edinburg and Potter

The trip to Edinburg was quite fun and memorable for me. It takes around 1 hour journey to there by bus.The view of the ciy was spectacular especially when you look it from above the hill (calton Hill).I have a fun time snapping pictures here and there.I then went to see Edinburg's Castle. The experience of going into the castle was undeniable ,( although a part of me screaming due to its high fee entrance which is around RM77),since before this i only heard about this astounding building from fairy tale and story books. In edingburg also there's a building call Balmore. Nothing special about this building except that  a part of Harry Potter's book (no idea about the volume)  is written in there. And talking about Harry Potter's book, the release of it's final book was on last Saturday. After a dissapointment of its fifth movie, this book is like a source of remedy for it. Strangely ,the  last book come out when I'm In UK as i expected it to come out last year.So buying it here feels  a little bit difference than others since this is the place where the sories originate. Unfortunately, I don't have time to read it as this 3 weeks are quite busy for me,packs with exam and assignment deadline....sigh....

Part 3-travel,travel and travel

One thing about studying in foreign country is that you tend to travel a lot and not to forget taking a lot of picture.Although Glasgow is not as interesting as london,it has its own attraction. One of them is their museum ,Kelvingrove museum, which is astoundingly big where from outside it looks like a castle and believe me it is much exciting compared to Muzium Negara.Basically there are three floor.A lot of things such as mummies, art from italy, spain and etc, organ (the big piano with large whistle on it ),sculpture, fossil and dinosour replica, and the list goes on.After 3 hour exploring the so called chambers of musuem, still we didn't manage to inspect all the items in it.I already plan to go again next time.So it's proven that educational trip can be fun.Anyway, that's all for now.
